Root Chakra Balancing and Energizing Practices

Introduction

The Root Chakra, also known as Muladhara Chakra, is the foundation of our energy system. It is associated with feelings of safety, security, and grounding. Balancing and energizing this chakra helps to establish a strong base for overall well-being. Below are the practices shared during the Root Chakra session to help you harmonize and energize your Muladhara Chakra.

1. Element Association: Grounding

Purpose: Connect with the Earth element to harmonize and ground the Root Chakra.

Practice: Grounding (Feet, Palms, and Body)

○ Step 1: Walk barefoot on the ground, preferably on earthy surfaces or grass, for 15 minutes daily.

○ Step 2: If walking outside is not feasible, walk inside your house on a non-carpeted or non-wooden floor.

○ Step 3: Touch the ground with both feet/palms for a few minutes.

○ Step 4: Focus on the feeling of the ground touching the Muladhara Chakra while sitting.

Benefits: Enhances connection with the Earth, promotes stability and grounding.

2. Associating with the Sense: Smell Sensation

Purpose: Use the sense of smell to heal and balance the Root Chakra.

● Practice: Sandalwood Roll

○ Step 1: Hold a piece of sandalwood within your palms.

○ Step 2: Move your palms to help the sandalwood piece roll on the surface of your palms, feeling its solidity.

○ Step 3: Gently shift your attention to the Muladhara Chakra.

○ Step 4: Bring your palms near your nose, inhale the fragrance of sandalwood.

○ Step 5: Visualize the fragrance flowing into the Root Chakra and healing it.

Alternatives: Use Tulsi leaves, moistened sandalwood, sandalwood paste, or sandalwood incense sticks.

Benefits: Strengthens the sense of smell, enhances grounding, and balances the Root Chakra

3. Body Awareness & Communication

Purpose: Develop a deeper connection with your body organs and structures.

● Practice: Body Awareness and Communication

○ Step 1: Focus your attention on the Muladhara Chakra.

○ Step 2: Seek the power to connect with body organs and structures, recognizing their solidity.

○ Step 3: Move your attention to different parts of your body, including limbs, sense organs, and internal organs.

○ Step 4: Connect with each part with love and communicate with them as if talking to a friend.

○ Benefits: Fosters a loving connection with your body, enhances body awareness, and promotes healing.

4. Earth Energy Connect: Visualisation

Purpose: Draw energy from the Earth to nourish and secure the body.

● Practice: Deep into the Earth Visualization

○ Step 1: Sit or stand straight with your feet touching the ground.

○ Step 2: Visualize your Root Chakra energy extending like roots through your legs and feet deep into the Earth.

○ Step 3: Imagine red-coloured roots extending to the deepest levels of the Earth.

○ Step 4: Visualise receiving blessings, positive energies, nutrients, and minerals from the Earth's core.

○ Step 5: Feel the nourishment and security provided to your body, dispelling all survival fears.

○ Duration: Practice daily for 3 to 7 minutes.

○ Benefits: Strengthens the connection to Earth, enhances feelings of security, and balances the Root Chakra.

5. Swiveling and Energization

Purpose: Balance and energize the Root Chakra through physical movement.
